Microwaves

A watched pot never boils. Also, a watched phone never rings. Which is why they also tell you not to stand in front of a microwave to watch your food cook. Though it might look fun because it spins around on that little revolving tray, it will actually cook much slower. Well it could be that or the radiation that may be seeping into your body.

I bring this up because I just microwaved some coffee at work and stood staring directly into the microwave, as I frequently do. It's fun to watch the cup spin around - just like being at a laundromat and watching your clothes chase each other around in the dryer. Microwaves and laundromats: bringing out our inner child. And possibly poisoning us with radiation and stealing our socks.
